Fanatical Friulian: Miani
Often compared to some of the great Bordeaux Cru Classé, Miani's Refosco is fine, complex and classy. His wines are often hard to find, but IWM has secured a limited quantity of the 2002, 2003 and 2004 vintages.

Miani Refosco Calvari 2002

Miani only bottles wines in vintages deemed worthy. Despite the heavy rains in Friuli throughout the 2002 vintage, through careful tending of his small yield of Refosco, Pontoni managed to grow a hearty batch of quality grapes for his Calvari, leaving behind a full-bodied wine with an ability to age for many more years.
