Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Soprana 2004
Aldo Conterno is known as the “King of Barolo” in Italy. Aldo's Barolos are situated somewhere in between modern and traditional, however, Aldo does not use small barriques. His wines tend to be more fruit driven and approachable then those of his brother Giacomo, who has taken the more traditional route.

Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Vigna Romirasco 2004
While Aldo Conterno only produces the Romirasco Barolo in vintages were he doesn't feel the conditions are ideal enough for his famed Granbussia, this Barolo is still one of incredible appeal and structure. This dark colored wine has a traditional nose of flowers, earth, tar and smoke, followed by a medium-bodied palate of smooth, mouth filling tannins and acidity.

Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Vigna Romirasco 2004
This esteemed cru became the primary constituent of Granbussia (70 percent) beginning with the 1982 vintage. The change was a significant one, as Romirasco is essentially a theoretical blend of Cicala and Colonnello, combining the distinctive soil types that constitute the hallmark of each site. In 2004, the estate vinified a cru expression of Romirasco, as hail precluded the production of Granbussia. This debut effort so impressed the estate that it has decided to reduce the production of Granbussia in order to make Romirasco a regular portfolio member.

Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2004
Sandrone showcases his astute grasp of Nebbiolo through an esteemed cuvée Barolo, Le Vigne, a veritable benchmark in its own right. Le Vigne is made from the Ceretta, Vignane, Merli and Conterni vineyards. Its conception is intimately connected to the philosophy and principles informing a blend's composition; each of the vineyard's subplots is harvested and vinified separately, and then this protocol is followed by an individual aging period of one year.
