This week we've selected to highlight the wines of Bodegas Chacra, a group of wines most fitting because they come from Argentina, but from an estate owned and operated by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, an owner of the great Italian wine Sassicaia.

Bodega Chacra Pinot Noir Rio Negro Treinta y Dos 2008

The flagship wine of the estate, Treinta y Dos (or 1932), is the prized cru named after the eponymous vineyard, planted in 1932. The wine is produced from gnarled, seventy-year old vines which contribute to its depth and complexity. The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine itself is made with minimal intervention. Treienta y Dos is a highly-structured wine.
