About the Producer
Giuseppe Quintarelli is the Veneto’s most importer producer, renowned for his near-mythical Amarone, Recioto and the cult wine, Alzero. Although there are other fine Amarone producers, including Quintarelli’s protégée, Romano dal Forno, the Quintarelli Amarone is inarguably the benchmark for the wine. Quintarelli also established the standard for other Veneto reds, including Recioto and Valpolicella Superiore. He is a resolute traditionalist, following the winemaking standards and practices established by his father and grandfather. He is also a perfectionist, practicing rigorous grape selection and releasing his wines to market when he deems them ready—often many years after his fellow Veneto producers |
