Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Vigna Romirasco 2006 750ml
While Aldo Conterno only produces the Romirasco Barolo in vintages were he doesn't feel the conditions are ideal enough for his famed Granbussia, this Barolo is still one of incredible appeal and structure. This dark colored wine has a traditional nose of flowers, earth, tar and smoke, followed by a medium-bodied palate of smooth, mouth filling tannins and acidity.

The wine remains inside stainless steel vats for four to five months and is transferred into Slavonian oak barrels where it is left to age for 26 to 28 months before bottling. The grapes used to make Conterno's Barolo come from vineyards which are at least 20 years old.

Aldo Conterno Chardonnay Bussiador 2006
Although Aldo Conterno is best known for his Barolos, he also produces other interesting, modern wines like this Bussiador Chardonnay. It's a full-bodied 100 percent barrel fermented wine with rich notes of honey, tropical fruit and toasted oak. It's a very modern, expressive wine that's delightful to drink right now but will age well for several years as well.
