Traveling to Piemonte in any season is like savoring a perfect food and wine pairing--the landscape, the weather, the food and of course the wines, everything blends beautifully together in perfect harmony to satisfy all the senses. Throughout five glorious days you will have the opportunity to experience the terroir of the eternal King and Queen of Italian wine, Barolo and Barbaresco, taste in the company of some of the region’s most respected producers – BARTOLO MASCARELLO and LUCIANO SANDRONE in Barolo, VIGNA RIONDA (MASSOLINO) in Serralunga d’Alba, BRUNO GIACOSA in Neive and GAJA in Barbaresco. These are names that are music to any serious oenophile ears.

The restaurants featured on this program are the best in this region such as Piazza Duomo in the heart of the historic center of Alba, Ristorante da Guido ensconced within the gates of the famous Slow Food “Agenzia” as the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo is called. Prior to the dinner we will also have the opportunity to visit the “Banca del Vino” a virtual wine bank where wines from all the top Italian producers are stored in an enormous wine cellar. Trattoria della Posta in Monforte d’Alba is another local favorite. To further enrich the oenogastronomic experience, menus of local seasonal specialties will complement the wines selected by IWM. In addition, a hands-on cooking class with a top local chef will provide skills and appreciation for this region’s rich gastronomic culture that will last a lifetime.
